Ordinance Modernization

Our second meeting between City Staff and Dunedin Goes Carting volunteer co-chairs took place on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 7:00pm. This second meeting was as productive as our first. City Staff members presented FDOT-acceptable Skinner crossing solutions which could be implemented to cover short-term needs ahead of the Skinner redevelopment project.

The discussion also included the exploration of other areas for improvement. Perhaps the most important theme this meeting provided is that the City has definitively acknowledged that “personal mobility” (read that as golf carts, bicycles, power-assisted bicycles, LSVs, and other emerging technology devices for personal transport) can no longer be ignored or band-aided into place. The City is committed to working with residents to develop safe, compatible integration for these technologies across the entire city.
